Place the 1/2 cup ground coffee and 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon in a 16-ounce French press coffee pot. Add 4 cups boiling water, stir, cover and allow the coffee to steep for 4 minutes. Then insert the plunger and press it down. Transfer the coffee to a pitcher and add 1 cinnamon stick. Allow to cool to room temperature, before refrigerating overnight.
When ready to serve, pour over ice cubes, adding heavy cream or simple syrup to taste.
