Apple Crisp

Fall is here, which I'm really excited about. The fall harvest brings fruits and vegetables that are perfect for rustic fruit desserts... like this apple crisp. What's a crisp? Think: a layer of sugary, toasty crumbs with the flavor of a snickerdoodle cookie, followed by a layer of cinnamon-tossed baked apples. And when topped with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream? Heaven. It’s the perfect dessert to welcome fall and celebrate the harvest.

Check out the full recipe on Relish Magazine's website, where I've guest-authored a post:

For now, here is a sneak preview:

Those are the pink pearl apples that I used in the recipe. And yes, they really are light green on the outside, with a beautiful pale pink on the inside! When eaten fresh, they are slightly too tart and mushy, but they bake wonderfully in the crisp:

Looks good, right? So what are you waiting for? Head on over to Relish Magazine to check out the recipe and celebrate the arrival of fall!
